It's Baby Aiden!

Tonight instead of reading what sometimes feels like 100 books, we looked at photo albums of Aiden when he was a baby - and up to 1-2 years old. (And we also read 3 books). It was so fun to watch Aiden pick out his friends, family, and himself "baby Aiden" when he was so little. Here is a slide show of some of my favorite baby pics of him. How quickly they grow up!!

Happy Graduation Molly!

This past weekend we met a lot of my family members at the Wasserbahn water park in Amana Iowa for my cousin Molly's college graduation. We are so proud of her! She graduated with some sort of amazing biology/chemistry degree and I think she will be going to optometry school in a year. It was so nice to see everyone and all the little kiddos! We had a wonderful time and Aiden really enjoyed the water park, and I think we will definitely go back there sometime.

I wish I would have taken more pictures, but was busy chasing Aiden and just enjoying the weekend. I am having troubles with the memory card with all of my pictures from this past weekend though, and am having a hard time getting to all of them. So I had to put them on a disk and now am having trouble editing them, so sorry for all of the red and glowing eyes!

Mommy Can Go Now

Scene: Aiden's bedtime tonight

Every night we give Aiden a bath, then read some books before he goes to sleep. So tonight as we were reading his favorite Cars books, he says to me "Mommy, I go to sleep now." I said okay. Aiden then says, "Mommy rock me." I said okay, but just for a minute. So I rocked him for about three minutes, then Aiden says to me, "I go to bed". So I laid him in his bed and was rubbing his back and he says to me, "I sleeping". Then the next words that came out of his mouth just broke my heart. Aiden was laying on his pillow with his hand under his cheek and says to me "Mommy can go now". I know, so sweet, but I wasn't ready to hear that!! Even so, this scene from tonight was the easiest night for me for putting him to bed. He usually does wonderfully for Shannon, but when it is my turn, it can turn into a 1 1/2 hour ordeal. So for as much as his sweet little comment kind of broke my heart, at the same time it was pretty nice to know that he felt safe and content enough to just go to sleep. My sweet, sweet baby.

The Big Boy Room

A few weeks ago Aiden and I went to Iowa to stay with my mom (mema Ellie's farm as Aiden calls it) when I had a long 3-day weekend. While we were gone, my wonderful husband stayed home and painted Aiden's bedroom. We have picked out several colors and painted every room but one in this house, some more than once, and every time we get the paint home one of us will say, "I think it's going to be too dark" or "I'm not sure I'm going to like it". Well, I think we are finally getting a hang of this paint selection thing. The past three rooms we have painted, we actually end up liking it! Crazy huh?! Anyway, Aiden's new room looks wonderful! Thank you Shannon for being such a great dad and husband. We all love the color. Well, it took Aiden a few days to notice that he got new paint on his walls. He was just fascinated with his new bean bag chair! It still needs stuff hung up on the walls, but I haven't decided what to put up yet. Anyway, here are a few pictures.
