We've Got a lot of Work to do Mommy
For the past few weekends we have been working on getting all of the leaves out of our yard. You see, this is a never ending job at our house because we have several trees that are so tall that when you look up at them in the sky, you can barely see where they end. (I really am serious about that).
Aiden is at the stage where he wants to do everything and always wants to help. So, as you can see from these pictures, Aiden had total control of the leaf blower and rake. The first day of working on the leaves, we went outside and as the title says, Aiden says to me in his most serious voice, "We have a lot of work to do mommy". Oh, I just love that little boy!!

It's Already Happening
Ever since the "first cuss word", I've really been trying to watch what I say around Aiden and how I say things (i.e. when I am really trying to convince him to do something or not to do something). Well, yesterday was the kicker. I can't even remember what he and I were doing or what was even going on, but Aiden says to me, "Do you understand me mommy?". When I didn't respond due to being in somewhat of a shock, Aiden says, "yes or no, do you understand me mommy?". Yes, my child picks up on EVERYTHING I say and then uses it to bite me in the ass later at the most impromptu time. Here is a sampling of some "catchy" phrases you will hear Aiden use.
- Do you understand me mommy?
- 2 more minutes mommy (this is usually said when I ask him to do something like go upstairs to take a bath, eat dinner, etc.)
- no, not yet (this response comes when I ask Aiden to go to the bathroom or if he wants to pick up his toys or turn off the TV)

Halloween 2008
I know I am a little late in posting, but here are some pictures of Aiden's Halloween. We had a beautiful evening for trick-or-treating. We went with our friends/neighbors to Brookside where they can trick-or-treat at the area businesses. We then went to eat and as many of you know, Aiden then threw up that night (and not from too much candy b/c he only ate two bites of a Baby Ruth). We thought he was fine, but he threw up two more times Saturday night and then had diarrhea yesterday. Some crazy intestinal bug going around! Anyway, he hasn't asked for any of the candy, which is good. More for Shannon and I to eat!! Enjoy these pictures of Aiden, the bat; and Colin who was Snoopy.

Mommy, My Food Fell Out of My Mouth
So last night, we had a wonderful time trick-or-treating (I will post more about this later as I haven't downloaded my pictures yet). We went to Brookside where the stores have trick-or-treating, out to dinner with our friends/neighbors, then to Rachelle's house, came home, read some stories, was just about to put Aiden into bed, and then it happened. I think everything he ate that day, came out. And it wasn't from too much candy, because I think he only ate 1-2 pieces all night. I think the excitement of the night and all the running around at Rachelle's house (she always gets him wound up ;) )! So, in the tub Aiden went and then he was fine! This was his first time of really getting sick in his almost 3 years of life where he has thrown up like that. Thank goodness my sinuses are stuffed up or I may have gotten sick too. Shannon was a trooper and cleaned it all up while I gave Aiden a bath. The cute part of the whole scenario: as Aiden was in the tub he says to me, "Mommy, my food fell out of my mouth". And he was so sweet and sincere about it all. Needless to say, he went right to bed and slept all night long.
