Two sweet conversations tonight!!
Scene: Oak Park Mall - Aiden and I went shopping tonight for some new summer clothes for him.
Aiden: Mom, I only have one tear left.
Me: What do you mean, you only have one tear left.
Aiden: I'm sad, and I only have one tear left.
Me: What are you sad about?
Aiden: Oh, something happened at school today.
Then, he pretends like he is wiping his eye!
I never got out of him what was sad at school today, but he was so serious and dramatic with this story - it was kind of funny!

Sweetest Aiden Conversation #62
So, in addition to the funny conversations I have with Aiden, I need to start documenting the sweet ones too, because even though this kid can really drive you up a wall some days, he really is the sweetest thing in my life. Enjoy, this one is a true Aiden story, as he always puts so much thought and observation into things!
Scene: driving home tonight after shopping at the mall with mom, and then dinner with dad. Just me and Aiden in the car (Shannon had to go to Home Depot).
Aiden: Mom, I want to race with Daddy.
Me: (thinking he means race Shannon as in we are driving separate cars and he wants to race to see who gets home first). Okay Aiden, but I think we will get home first as Daddy had to stop at Home Depot.
Aiden: no, I want to RACE with Daddy.
Me: Oh, you mean run with Daddy?
Aiden: Yea, like in one of his races he runs, I want to race with Daddy. And, I want one of those things that you put songs on it, then tie it to your arm, then put those things in your ears and listen to music while you race. I saw a kid with one one time at one of Daddy's races, I want one.
Me: Okay, we will see if they make them for little kids like you. (I'm thinking...are you kidding me?! This kid thinks he is going to get an ipod!).
Aiden: Can we sign me up for a race? I know Daddy just signed up for another race.
Me: Okay Aiden, we will see if they have races for parents and kids together.
Aiden: Mom, would you want to walk or run.
Me: Oh, I would probably walk. How about you?
Aiden: I want to run!
Isn't he the sweetest?!

Funny Conversation with Aiden #217
Scene: Loose Park
Shannon, Aiden, and I went to Loose Park last Thursday night for a picnic as it was Aiden's last day of school. Glenda (Shannon's mom) met us there later. After we ate, we went to the playground to play. Aiden found some kids to play with, so we sat on the bench and talked. A few minutes later, Aiden comes up to me with a sword.
Aiden: Look Mom! A dragon sword!
Me: Where did you find that Aiden?
Aiden: Some kid sold it to me!
Me: He did?
Aiden: Yes, I paid him 29 rocks and I get to keep it until tomorrow!
