Katie & Jed

So, you know how lots of little kids have imaginary friends right? Well, I think Aiden has an imaginary sister and brother. And by the title of this post, their names are Katie and Jed. Where would he come up with these names?? Here is how the story goes.

Lately Aiden has been talking about really wanting a baby brother and sister. He always says, when I have a baby brother..., or when I have a baby sister... Then one day, he starts talking to me about his baby brother and sister and that their names are Katie and Jed. After I finish laughing to myself, I ask why those are their names. Aiden tells me, well, Andy (his best friend at his new school) has a sister whose name is Katie, so my baby sister is Katie too. And Jed, well, Colin's (his best friend from the neighborhood and old school) cat's name is Jed and Jed is a boy, so my baby brother is Jed too! Such logical thinking don't you think??!!

He talks about them periodically like where they will sleep, what color their rooms will be, where they will sit in the car. It really is the sweetest thing to listen to him and often breaks my heart. I just want to tell him, some day Aiden, maybe you will have a Katie or Jed (well, maybe not Jed - we may need to work on the name).

Peeing in the Tub

Aiden's old bath time ritual: Go to the bathroom in the toilet before getting into the tub.

Aiden's new bath time ritual: Jump right into the tub, sit down, then pee. Why? Because it makes his bathwater warmer! Who knew??!!
