Doctor's Visit Went Very Well

So the doctor visit on Tuesday went very well. I was so impressed with Aiden's behavior! The doctor even said that he was his most compliant patient! He made no protests at all when the doctor looked in his ear, eyes, nose, and throat. The verdict is that he has allergies, probably hay fever, but can't be 100% sure unless we want to do a blood test. We will just see if this new medication regime that we now do twice a day works. Poor guy has to take: 1/2 tsp. of Zyrtec, nasal spray in each nostril, and put a topical cream in and behind his ears because he is scratching them so badly! As long as he can watch Super Why or Sid the Science Kid, we have no problems doing it! If this nasal spray doesn't work within 5-7 days, then we have a second nasal spray and eye drops to add to the mix. So far, so good!

Going to the Doctor

Conversation between Aiden and Daddy tonight at bedtime. This just came out of the blue:

A: "I am not going to the doctor tomorrow with Mommy. I have no owie."

S: "How did you hear about that?"

A: "Mommy talking."

S: "Well, Dr. Hollemen just wants to see how big you are and he is a huge Tigers fan."

A: "Okay."

I am taking Aiden to the doctor tomorrow for his allergies/hay fever. I was talking to my mom earlier this evening and told her I was taking Aiden to the doctor. He was watching his new favorite show, Super Why, so I didn't think he really paid much attention to what I said on the phone. Well, he heard the word "doctor" and says, "I am not going to the doctor mommy." Then Shannon tells me about this conversation they had as Shannon was putting Aiden to bed. He just gets smarter and wittier every day!

He has been scratching his face, nose, ears, etc. so badly that we had to put a band-aid on his nose over the weekend and he has a huge chunk of dried blood in his ear from scratching. The Zyrtec just isn't working. I'll keep you all posted.

The Next Michael Phelps?

We went swimming for the last time Labor Day weekend before the end of summer, and froze our tooshies off! The water was like ice on Sunday and just a tad bit warmer on Monday. Anyway, Aiden started swinging his arms back and forth before jumping into the pool, just like Michael Phelps! I guess he really paid attention when we watched all that swimming during the Olympics!
