Funny Conversation with Aiden #88

Location: driving in the car on the way to his soccer game
Conversations at the time: none

Aiden: Mom, did God die before Michael Jackson?

Me: Yes, wait, I mean no, why are you asking?

Aiden: Does God only come out during church on Sunday?

Me: No Aiden, God is always around us?

Aiden: Did God die first or did Michael Jackson die first?

Me: Shannon, you can take this one.

Shannon: Aiden, we'll talk about this later.

Now, you all know if I would have given him that answer, there would have been about 120 more questions to follow.

You may be wondering why he asks about Michael Jackson dying? Last summer when we were at the pool, I heard the announcement over the radio that Michael Jackson had died and of course said to Shannon, "Oh my God, Michael Jackson died!". Ever since then, Aiden has been obsessed with asking about Michael Jackson, why he died, why he had a bad heart, etc. etc. FYI, if you are ever around Aiden and a Michael Jackson song comes on the radio, don't say, Aiden this song is by Michael Jackson, because then you will have to explain how can the song be on the radio when Michael Jackson is dead!!! I think my head is about to explode!!!! :)

Funny Conversations with Aiden #127

I often find myself saying, "I wish I would have written that down". So from now on, I am writing things down. This kid says so many funny things, even though many times he is dead serious, I want to have this record of them, because you all know I can't remember things anymore!! Here is one of my recent favorites:

Scene: Driving home in the car after school.

Aiden: Mom, when are we going to get those things?
Me: What things?
Aiden: Those babies?
Me: What babies? (At this point I am thinking, oh no he overheard us talking about the baby raccoons in the attic from our recent 2010 Mama Raccoon in the Attic Saga).
Aiden: The baby brother and sister I asked for.
Me: Oh...(what to say, what to say, what to say??). Well, I guess mommy is going to the doctor next week (which was true), so I will see what he says.
Aiden: Okay. Hey mom, do you think he could just squeeze them out?
Me: I don't think so Aiden.

This conversation started completely out of the blue! What goes on in that kids head??!!
