I'm Back with a New Name

So, most of you probably thought I forgot about this blog thing, but I've just been busy and not very creative lately. But I'm back with a new blog name! I never really liked the old one and not 100% on this one either, but I think it will work for now.

Instead of going back almost 3 1/2 months worth of posting, I'll just start with this past weekend, Memorial Day weekend.

We had a pretty action packed weekend. Saturday we met our friends Mark and Ashley and their two girls, Lauren and Addison at Jiggle Jam. Aiden got to see his favorite rock singer Mr. Stinky Feet. The kids then enjoyed cooling off in the fountain and eating at Fritz's. The Harding's went home, then Shannon, Aiden, and I enjoyed some of They Might Be Giants. They used to be an alternative type rock band that we listened to in college, but they've moved over to the kids' rock world. For those of you who might be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fans, they sing the Hot Dog song! !Anyway, it was kind of funny watching the +30 somethings jam out with the 5 and under crowd.

Sunday, Aiden and I trekked it down to Union Station/Liberty Memorial for Celebration at the Station. Shannon had to work, but met us there around 7:30pm. It was a little difficult getting there and the whole time I was thinking, why was this a good idea again? It was hot, and I had Aiden in his stroller, but was also carrying a diaper bag/back pack, two blankets, and a cooler full of food and had to walk about 7 blocks carrying all of this while pushing Aiden. Then once we got there, we had to walk up about 100 steps or so. To make matters more difficult, I couldn't figure out how to collapse the stinkin stroller! I'm sure we were quite the sight for those around us!! But it was worth it as the KC Symphoney did a wonderful job playing beautiful patriotic songs. Then as always, we had to leave as the canons went off and got to watch the beautiful fireworks display on our long trek back to the car. The whole time Aiden's ears were covered and his head was burried in my neck. One of these days this kid will like fireworks!!!

Last Thursday was Aiden's first tball practice and he did wonderful! The team is made up of about (12) 4-7 year old boys, but Aiden held his own. The league let us join b/c this kid of mine just loves baseball so much! We will see how the season goes. But the coaches were great and the league is just about fun anyway - everyone bats and no scores are kept. Enjoy these pictures of our latest adventures.
